Motorcycle Hand Signals
Never hurts to refresh your memory, especially if you plan on doing some group riding..
The last example is used very frequently.

RE: Motorcycle Hand Signals
I have been known to use both the hand signal and the vocal response together. One day two car loads of young punks almost took off my front fender.I used both signals and put the kick stand down at a red light. They ran the red light and there were 8 of them and only one of me.I'm not a big guy either so the signals must have worked okay that day.

HAZARD RIGHT A
Extend your right arm at a 45 degree angle and point towards the hazard.
Looks to me like the HAZARD RIGHT A hand signal should stand for HAZARD RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.......HIT THE BRAKES.
I can't imagine that riding in a group, cruizing along, that you would want someone in front of you taking their hand off of the throttle. By God, without target fixation on the rider in front, you could come up on them pretty quick. Staggered or not, but I have never been a big fan of group rides.(at least large ones)
I too have used some hand signals along with vocal prompting over the years. The STOP AND PUT YOUR KICKSTAND DOWN signal seems to work too.

RE: Motorcycle Hand Signals
All the signalling is one of the reasons I don't ride with the HOG chapter much. They seem to carry it a bit overboard. Why use left and right turn hand signals when you have signal lights on your bike. Just my opinion and not meant to offend anyone who chooses to flail their arms about whilst riding.
