Default Pipes: 2 into 1 vrs Dual

Hi all. I'm sure that this subject has been bashed to death in other columns but I'm just seeking a little input. I have a 2010 FXDC with harley slip-ons, stage 1 air kit and factory download for the fuel injection. I want to go with a full exhaust that favors real-world low and midrange gains and is not too terribly loud. Would a 2 into 1 or dual system be the better way to go? Thanks in advance, take care.

I think the basic thing is this, a 2 into 1 will give you a better gain in TQ, and honestly probably a deeper sound. Some people prefer the way 2 - 2 look. Ive always heard Thunderheader gives the most power gain. I saw Rush has a new 2 - 1 full system that looks good, and Im sure would sound awesome. Lots of choices. Bassani also has nice
looking 2 - 1

I can't speak for other 2-1 systems but the Thunderheader isn't terribly loud until you twist that throttle. Nice bark to my ears.

I like my BUB 7 2 into 1's! Not too loud until crank open the throttle!

i always liked the look of 2 into 2 system,, then i jumped onto the 2 into 1 bandwagon,, took alittle time to get used to the look,,, now i think it looks sharp on the bike and really like the roar when you twist the throttle,,, if you decide to go for it you wont regret it

Maybe looking at some dyno sheets might help, since most of the time people post their respective setups.

Go w/the 2-1 for reasons listed...D&D FatCat or V&H ProPipe are two great choices - good luck!
