Default Review of the Harley Davidson Combination Speedometer/Tachometer

If you are considering this combo speedo/tach for your Road King, you might find this review interesting. I decided to write it up after using it for about 3 weeks.

Great write up. I hope they do come out with one for the older ones. It looks so much nicer than the old combo they sold for 5 bills.

Good write up ehans. I am considering a new King and options for a tach as I like having it. My 2011 parts and acc cat' lists that speedo/tach only for softails. Do they have a new one now for the king or did you simply try the one listed for the softails??

Thanks!

You have the old catalog. the new(est?) 2012 catalog shows the one for the 2008+ Road Kings. I had the same issue when I went in to buy it. I found it on the web site but they only had one 2012 catalog at the dealer and they had to hunt it down before they could order it.

I suspect even though they might fit, the softail combo definitely woudn't work because the computers are different.

Great review! I've had 4 of these and every one has been defective. I've posted the problem on another thread. I just want to caution anyone looking to buy one of these units. Make sure you check the glass after a day or so. Make sure there's no film under the glass.

Just a heads up!

I've had this unit since spring. So far no problems - ridden in the rain many times as well. I think the best is the medallian one but would never get it due to you have to use the ugly pod.

The HD one is actually made in Switzerland - so I guess it's kinda like a Swiss watch.

FWIW, I had this tach and mount on my old RK. It looked very good and put the tach in a better position for viewing (higher). The downside was that a WS bag was all but impossible to mount without creative methods.

I'd just love one of these but it simply doesn't work on a 2007 softail
