Default Removing the front fairing?

I just bought my first Harley Electra Glide and I would like to remove the Front Fairing and re-install the driving lights that the previous owner removed. How do I take the front fairing off?

im guessing its like my street glide. if so three bolts up at windshield, bolt on each side below where street glide fairing mirrors are attached( i think yours doesnt have mirrors attached to fairing but look and you'll see the bolts im talking about), and a bolt on each side through the lower fairing skirt. total of seven bolts. You"ll have to unplug your headlight when removing the outer fairing and connector on mine u just pull to unplug. Make sure you remove your main fuse, look behind bodypanel on left side of bike under seat. You'll see a large, i think orange fuse. This one is very important, make sure you cover your front fender with a mechanics fender protector, pillow, comforter, whatever will keep it from getting dented in case the outer fairing falls. Ask me how i know this can happen. Yep, dont take much to dent much less put a nice scratch on a fender

If your going to do your own wrenching it would be a good idea to get a service manual. Probably cheap on E-bay.

Here's a link to an excellent write up from Bubbas1 on how to remove your fairing. It covers removing both the outer and inner fairing. I used it when I installed my new speakers in my fairing.

the 'spot lights' can go on with the fairing in place, the light bar mounts on the outside on the sides of the triple tree.----( cover your fender with a towel while wrestling this into place)

if you are looking for the wiring- It may just be tucked up out of the way.

welcome to the forums, year and model are always good info to provide

If I could do it you can too. Removed mine when I put my new J&M speakers in. Really easy. Protect your fender and have a helper if needed. Go for it.
