Default Rain Gear.

Well , Rode 10 hours in moderate to heavy rain home to pa from the dragon yesterday and vowed to to something about our rain gear. We both have the hdrain suits , about a year old 135bucks or so , and helmets with shields. After about 2 to 3 hours both had soaked through, not just wet spots , soaked through. Are there any rain gear that wont soak through with heavy rain over longer time periods. Thanks.

a few years HD made a Gore-Tex rain jacket and pants, it was pricey and makes you look like a pumpkin as the jacket was all orange. Got it on the clearance rack and have used it many times w/o a problem in all day rain when traveling. Try and find one of those as I'm not selling mine. Don't understand why the moco no longer sells Gore-tex stuff, must be a licensing issue. Some of the new HD gear is only water resistant, what's the point of raingear if it won't keep you dry.

I bought this one last year and have only used it once. About a two hour ride in the rain and stayed bone dry. It's from the Motorcycle Superstore.

There is no substitute for Gore Tex rain gear. It's always pricy but worth it. Use it on a hot day in the summer when you get a down pour and you will never want to use anything else. After you buy 3 or 4 sets of other rain gear that you sweat your *** off in and end up throwing away you more than paid for a set of Gore Tex gear. HD made a Gore Tex set in black a few years back, don't know if it's still available. Another good source with a wide selection of Gore Tex gear is Cabellas.

I have the HD hi vis, works but hard to get into. Seems like a coverall type would be good. I was in Co. this summer when a toad floater hit , by the time I found a place to get off and put on the suit I was saturated. Cut the sturips (sp) off when I got home.

Gore-Tex from head to toe. You can find it on sale, but you have to look and not just at mc suits. Differant shells;leather, balistic nylon, nylon. Gore-Tex is a membrane between 2 fabrics, don't rip the outer shell...

I also use this one. Have ridden MANY hours in the rain with it and no problems. I highly recommend this suit.
