Bagger to Dyna Wide Glide
Has anyone made the switch from a bagger to a dyna?
I have an 06 Road Glide and I'm thinking about going to the new 2012 Wide Glide. I don't see any long trips in the foreseeable future. I mostly commute to work on the bike or just some 300-400 mile jaunts. Thinking about giving up the heavy bike for something more nimble.

My only Harley has been my Superglide so I can't address the bagger thing (other than I have test ridden all of them.) I can load my bike down with luggage and be gone for days, or take it off and pose like a super model. It does great two up (as long as you aren't trying to haul a water buffalo) and is very quick for a Harley. Dynas are kind of right in the middle, and can do about anything. Go for it.

Why not buy the WG, and keep the Roadie as a spare? It will come in handy when your primary bike ends up in the shop on the rare occasion it breaks.
Even though I'm a die hard Dyna fanatic (because the bikes can do anything-anytime-anywhere, and do it very well), there are times I wish I had a FLH/FLT in the stable for those long dismal rides.

Yeah, I would miss the bags, but I could always put some on later. I wouldn't miss the extra weight. I guess the wide glide would give more of that raw feeling of riding again.
The one I test rode, was more firm riding, not harsh, just firm. Whereas, when I go back on my Road Glide for the ride home, I felt like I just hopped on a Laz-Y-Boy. LOL
