Default Best cams for twin cam 88

I decided to replace the cam tensioners in my 88 with the new style chain drive cams. Harley gets about $500 for the cam plate, oil pump and chain. Which cams would give me the best bang for the buck? I plan on leaving it at stock compression and bore. Right now I have true duals, big sucker, and PCIII usb. I do have a new race tuner that I haven't installed but that's another story.

I'm doing the same upgrade in my 04 Road King this winter. After a lot of research and indecision, I decided on the Head-Quarters HQ-0034. Bike will be stock stage 1 otherwise. Haven't started the project yet, but I am hoping that I made a good choice.

Thanx to all who responded. I don't need a lot more but I figured as long as I'm changing to the new style tensioners I might as well throw in some hotter cams. I'm thinking low end to 5000 rpm.

203s work good for me. Everyone swears I have a 95". Leaves a 103 in the dust.

I would think a 255 would work....they are GREAT in 96 and 103 engines.

I've heard good things about 203's in the 88 as well

I like Screamin' Eagle cams myself.

I did the HQ0034's in a bike and really liked how they pulled.

Later on I put the Andrews TW21's in and they felt like the pulled even a little better.

I'm doing the same to my 88, going with upgrade cam plate/tensioners, 203's, new tappets, roller rockers (high ratio ?) and 06 heads. If I can find a 95" kit for cheap I'll install that also. Maybe a S&S 2in1to2 head pipe. You can keep going on & on...

I did an S&S Gear Drive cam in my Deuce, no more tensioners, much better. Noticable mid-range gain, SE adjustable pushrods. It worked great.
