Default Tour of the Pacific Coast Highway

Flew to LA from NY on the 27th. Was able to rent a bike from Bartels HD RTE 66 rentals in Marina Del Ray, very impressive dealership. They had one bike left due to the warmer than usual weather there last week. It was a '11 Silver FLHRC, the same bike I own, less the mods of course. Out the door price per day was $160, with a $2,000 refundable deposit. There is a lot of traffic in LA even by my NYC standards but well worth the ride that awaits. Got to the PCH from downtown LA and worked my way north of Malibu to Oxnard. The beauty is stunning and the turns and switchbacks make this a must do in my opinion. Next time I will make sure I am able to set aside more time to ride. I have attached some pics from just south of Oxnard on the southbound pull off. Also attached is the coolest and blackest King I have ever seen from Bartels HD. Hope you like the pics.

You are so right.....one of the best rides around....all the way to Washington state. I just rode it for the umpteenth time a few weeks ago, from LA Area to the Bay Area.

Malibu to Oxnard is right in my neck of the woods and I've been there often.

If you ever get the chance to do this again, try getting farther north. PCH through Big Sur is absolutely incredible.

I rode up PCH through there Saturday, Sunday, and today. I'll be rolling north through central cal in April. I guess we are spoiled around here.

My son and I plan on doing PCH from LA to the Bay area next year 2012. This year I'm taking him to Sturgis, he's never been....
