What are some good company's for some sporty seats. I'm looking for something comfortable but rugged looking (I don't mind break in). I've looked at mustang and std. HD seats, but I'm sure there are some smaller companies out there making some great products.

Mustang for comfort - LePara for low profile and sleek look

Here is a Mustang Tripper on my 883. If it fits the Roadster I'm picking up this weekend I plan on replacing it with a Mustang Wide Vintage Solo... http://www.mustangseats.com/Product/...uds-No-Conchos

It should be a crime to even mention those 2 in the same sentence. What didn't you like about the Mustang seats? I have had the Original and the 2 Up seat Harley made for the bike. There isn't even a comparison to the Mustang with the back rest and the pad for the wife with the HD sissy bar. Perhaps if we knew what you didn't like or are looking for, it might be easier to help you.

Exploring buying an uncomfortable HD seat should not be an option. I didn't believe it till I put down the money on one. What a difference it made in the longer trips. I should have done it sooner and shot at my stock seat with a12 gauge.

I'm beginning to think the MOCO should sell their bikes with a variety of optional seats, shocks, and bars to choose from before taking them home - but that might put a dent in post-purchase sales for the MOCO and after-market sales for all those other COs, so never mind...gotta keep the economy going...CAPITALISM, HO!!!

Some folks find the factory seats just fine, others do not. And not all Mustang seats have removable backrests.
