Default Harley Custom Paint Problems

My '12 RK has a numbered paint scheme. I just noticed today that the front fender is peeling REAL bad. There is a big chunk of paint missing, and if I wanted too, I could peel the rest of the paint off EASILY. I'm going to have HD pick it up from me in the morning, anybody else have this issue? It looked like a great color scheme, but obvious now it was a very cheap application. Anyone else have this problem? Dealer give you any problems?

Wow...that is terrible. Should be "no brainer" fix on HD's part. Maybe they were training the new painter that day???

I bought a new car and found a hair in the bumper cover paint. It took Mazda three tries to get it right. Inspect the finished product carefully but realistically it can happen to anyone. You just drew the short straw this time. Sorry for the hassle.

Looks like it's the clear coat that's peeling?

It's the whole coat. I just hope I don't get any hassle.

That's not a paint issue, that is a total lack of prep work. No primer laid down before paint, that is why there are entire chunks of paint coming off.

..when did HD start subletting the paint work out to MACCO??...(or Earl Shieb for us gray beards)....that's nasty....right back it should go....can't imagine how long a replacement for a numbered set will take.....put it this way....by the time you get the replacement fender back...you'll be walking past the new "Solar-Glide" on the showroom floor as you head to the parts counter....

I also have one of the limited paint jobs. Had an issue on it when I bought it with a run/bubble on the fender and some over spray on the fairing. Took it back to the dealer and they sent it back to the painter who repaired it. Took about 10 days total which I guess is not that bad. Mine was done by Gunslinger in Colorado.
