whoaaaa there. DO NOT LET THE DEALER DO IT!!!! I just today took off my pipes on my 2012 street glide and cut out my own cats. I had to buy an angle grinder ($39.99 ryoby model at home depot) and it took me less than 30min to cut open a panel on the header where the cat is and then dig and grind out the cat material. I will be getting the pipe back next week because I have no welder and am having a friend weld it for me next thursday.
I am putting on wild pig slip-ons and bought a Power Vision from Fuel Moto with 3 pre-loaded maps on it so I can remapp the bike when I get it back together.
Wild Pig pipes also sells an already de-catted stock pipe for $150.00 plus they want your pipes in return. Pretty good deal for those not able or just dont want to mess with it.
Power Vision from fuel moto is $499.00 with a lifetime supply of mapps if you change the bikes setup later and will work with you to perfectly dial it in if there stock mapps dont get it ecactly how you want it to run.
DO IT YOURSELF AND BE PROUD THAT YOU DO SOME OF YOUR OWN WRENCHING!!!!

A number of folks on this forum talk about getting the cat. cut out for about $100-125. However, that's doesn't include any labor cost to remove the head pipe. So if you include a $70/hour labor rate (may be on the low side) and it takes an hour to remove and an hour to replace, that puts it at $240-$265 total. The $284 doesn't sound all that bad a deal to me.
The V&H Power Duals list for $520. So that's a savings of $236 if you keep your de-catted header; and when you get done you won't have a stock header sittin' in your basement or garage collecting dust. I would seriously consider what dealer is offering.
My opinion - I'm sure you'll hear others.
