Default Photos: Softail Slim, aka "Black Betty" is home!

Yesterday was an excellent day, as I finally picked up my brand new 2012 Softail Slim from the dealer (rang the bell twice for my wife who encouraged me to add another bike to the stable). This is the nicest Softail I've owned-- my 10 Street Glide is still my current favorite as that allows my wife and I to ride two up.

Here is what I added to Slim:

1. Blacked out front end, mirrors, black levers, nostalgia grips, RSD gas cap, and a few other blacked out touches.
2. Stage 1, Black Vance & Hines Bigshot Staggered.
3. HD Tuner and dyno tuned (78 hp/89 lb/ft tq). Torque curve is table flat and hp curve rises strongly.

Other than that, I'm done. My Street Glide has plenty of chrome. This one will stay plenty black and simple.

I will post a dyno chart in the next few days. Beautiful weather in TN.

Regards,

Karl

Looks perfect! The Slim should have come from the MoCo with a black front end and exhaust.

Very nice! I saw the Slim at the dealership last week and they are really nice! I might have to re-think my Night Train project and grab one of these instead.

If I did not already have the Night Train I would definitely be looking at the slim. Yours looks nice.

The Slim would also be my second choice, if I didn't like the Springers so much! Nice job on the bike!!

The way you have it set up, chrome cam, primary, transmission, and rocker covers would look sweet with all of the gloss black on the bike.

Thanks. I actually like the polished covers minus the chrome on this one, but may change up someday--never say never.

My only concession to color on the bike are a set of red Screamin' Eagle 10mm spark plug cables, adds a nice flash.

JD just announced that he can handle ABS now.
