Default Wiring Tour Pak to 2012 FLHX

If this is redundant, I didn't see it anywhere.
Techs told me there was no turn/brake/run harness connection on 2012's. That I had to tap into wires and make a harness. Went on a witch hunt and there's a lighting harness on right side of ECM behind the extra length of antenna cable. It's a molex male/female and has all 6-wires for lighting.

I went to HD but they were only able to order the plugs (didn't stock them) but could not get the pins. I went on ebay and found MOLEX kit with male, female, and all 12 pins for $12. & free shipping. I'm taking my exisiting tour pak conection pigtail (I used on my 2009 FLHX) and replacing the ends with the molex to adapt to the 2012 FLHX and jack right into the lighting harness.
MOLEX 33472-0601 AND 33482-0601

I did a search for an easier way or plug location to connect the tour pak a few weeks ago, but found none. So I don't think this will be a repost. Hopefully this will help someone else and why doesn't HD make a molex pigtail?

I ended up getting a Molex T-connector from Ride Time Technology since I don't have a Molex compatible crimper.

OWOF...I had to "rig up" a Y-Molex Harness in order to use my Tour PAk on my 2010 SG. Here's where I bought all the connectors at:

I have an existing pigtail fom my 09 FLHX. So all I needed was the 2 molex ends to redo it.

If you wanted a turn/run/brake set-up on an Ultra tour pak, this accessory from HD might work since it doesn't use the tour pak harness under the left side cover--instead, it uses a Y-connector in the rear lighting connector under the seat:

Good luck with your project.

Carl

PS: I believe ridetime has a kit, similar to HD's, but it also changes the side marker lights to turn signals as well.

My 09 flhx had a connector under the seat for a pigtail. The 2012's do not. It was changed to a molex connector on right side of ECM.

Thanks for the clarification on the '12's regarding the connector under the seat.

Doesn't the '12 SG still have a three position Multilock connector under the left side cover as previous models have? It would be identified as the "tour pak harness" on a wiring diagram and is part of the main wiring harness. On previous SG's, that tour pak harness was used for the tri-bar light in the bottom of the rear fender fascia. On Ultras, it's used for the tour pak lights.

I guess I'll stop by my local dealer to check the wiring diagram in the '12 Touring model service manual since I'm curious.

I used a "flat 4" trailer like plug on mine ( for ground, run, brake and 12volt power for accs like phone chargers).

spliced in under the seat.

tidy, water proof, has indicator leds for trouble shooting.

$12 or so at pepboys.

male plug from tour pack is 12" long ( and when in place the connectors velcro to inside of T/P mount)
the female from the bike runs from under the seat, under the right side cover, along the frame rail, and when not in use is velcro'd to the top of the shock

Yes, it's still on left side but only connects run/stop, no signals. I have my king tour pak with led light bar for run/stop/turn.

OWOF I know this is an old post but did you ever get the turn signals working on your tour pack? I am looking to do the same thing.
