replacing stock air shocks
After blowing out a rear shock line on my 2009 Ultra at the end of a 5000 mile trip and dealing with the constant adjustment of the stock air shocks I am looking for options. I am 6'6" and around 275 and ride 2 up about 65% of the time. I ride around 12000 miles a year with at lease one trip of 5000 miles and a few over 1000 miles. Progressive has recommended the 444-4020B and I am also looking at the new Harley Rear touring shocks 54000008. Does anyone have experience with either of these. I am looking to maintain stock height, definitely do not want to lower the bike. Any input would be appreciated

I suggest you give HDF sponsor Howard of Motorcycle Metal a call. He custom builds both Ohlins and JRI shocks with the correct springs for you and your passenger and gives discounts. Tell him you are a member of HDF and talk through the options he has (some are darned expensive, but others are well worth buying!). You and Mrs Smegs will be fine!
