Default Eliminating Front air

Picking up a 1989 FLHTCU and I'm planning to remove as much of the extras as possible and eliminating unused electrical systems. I have several take offs and new components from previous projects so l already have the rear suspension covered. Planning to change bars and I've searched trying to find threads addressing Air Ride elimination up front. Planning to go traditional spring or progressive. Just wondering if there are any specific concerns I need to be aware of. Any suggestions or guidance to existing threads on the subject will be appreciated.

I had an 98 Electraglide standard that I removed both the front and rear air. I put Progressives on the rear and just capped off the front. Rode and handled just fine. The guy that bought it is still riding it that way with no problems.
Hope this helps some.
