Default Advice using Air suspension pump.

I have a 2000 Electra Classic. I bought a Harley hand pump yesterday because i'm riding with NO air and I have a wobble at high speeds.

I'm able to screw the pump to the stem and pump it to my desired 23psi with no issue on each side.

My problem is I seem to be losing ALL of my air as I unscrew the pump from the stem. I called the Harley dealership and they said to unscrew it faster I tried that (knowing there was no way that it could be done that quicly) and of course the air still came out to Zero. I have no way to check existing pressure either. When I hold the pump to the stem to check the pressure it reads zero and oil comes out.

Am I using the pump incorrectly? There is a button on the model pump from hatley that I have if that helps.

Excuse my lack of knowledge with this, i'm learning.

I'm about to take a ride from ATL to Memphis in the morning and I need to get this take care of today !!

Buy a valve stem tool and make sure the "stem" is screwed in nice and tight...

The harley pump is supposed to release the stem as soon as it backs off enough theoretically canceling the effect youre getting....so check that the stem ain't loose...

Your $50 Harley pump may be bad. I was doing the same thing and just broke down and bpught one from the harley Shop. My Street glide likes 15#'s for me and 40#s with a rider.

I just bought a new pump, since my old one died. I screwed it on and pumped it ONCE. The gauge went to the peg and stuck, won't move at all even when I unscrew the pump from the valve.

I can get another gauge to put on there, but it still ticks me off.

I've had 2 ways that happened with the Harley pump. One was I was pushing the button down a bit as I removed the hose. And one was the loose air stem valve on the bikes connection.

For what you pay for these things, you would expect them to be perfect the first and every time you use them.
