There are only three threads on HDF that mention Monroe and you started two of them! They are auto shocks, so why do you think they will be suitable for a bike that weighs a fraction of a car?! There are dozens of bike shocks suitable for Dynas, I suggest you choose one of them.

I've seen that Monroe setup before....I have to agree with gbrown on this one. I'm sure load ratings and what not are not going to be compatible for us.

Not sure why you would agree... 60psi of air in a motorcycle air shock will ride identical to 60psi in a automobile shock. You just need to pay attention to shock length.

Because it wasn't built for that. Im not going to use a brake hose off of my bike and put it on my Mustang.....you want to do that???? If I'm going to do something I'm not going to cut corners just because it's cheap. Does that setup come with a warranty???? Not trying to be a smart ***, just saying

I have the monroe ma785 on my flht and have about 12,000 miles on them with no problems. I also just fitted the same shocks on a 09 dyna lowrider this past weekend. It can work.

A shock absorber does two jobs. One, it supports the static weight of the vehicle. Two, it dampens vertical motion of the vehicle while it is moving over bumps and hollows on the road.

On an auto there is only one shock per wheel, while on a lighter bike there are two. However the damping required to control the motion of a car is not the same as a lighter bike and there is no means of altering that with a Monroe, or Harley shock for that matter.

They ain't the same! There are so many options out there designed for bikes there is no benefit of looking further afield.

Lots of people said car tires wouldn't work on a bike. And oil made for cars wouldn't work in a bike, but guess what ,they do!. So someone has to be the first to try anything, and this sounds like a chance to be the first one on your block to try that car shock on your bike. Let us know how it works.,,,

You guys need to get out more...

Readers digest version.....cheap way to install air ride on your bike vs arnott or legend systems.

I should have the balance of my parts in hand this next week. Will give you feedback once installed and I have a few miles on the bike.
