Default 88-99 Air shocks on a 2000+ Softail?

Has anybody tried fitting a set of air shocks meant for a 88-99 Softail on to a post 2000 bike?

Only, I have a set of legend L8's, and, at first glance, it looks like they could be modified to fit!?

Mods, could we please move this to the open softail forum? As I'm not getting any replies on here!

Or, can I start a new thread?

I think softail shocks work backwards from normal shocks if that's how yours are configured but I may be wrong? Oh never mind I see you have softail shocks sorry.

Evo shocks have eyelets on both ends, Twin Cam shocks only have the on the aft end and a bushing/stud/nut setup on the other. They will not interchange due to different frames.

Yes old chap, you can post in the Softail section. You should get more members seeing your query over there.

Different mounting system. Now, I haven't heard of anyone trying to swap the studs from a 2000 and up onto a '99 and earlier shock. Don't know if that could be done.
