Default audio system for 2005 electra glide standard

I just purchased a 2005 FLHT. Great deal, awesome ride! I have had cruisers my entire life and wanted to step up to a touring bike and still keep my custom FLSTF. Thought this was a great entry into a touring bike without breaking the bankroll ...and it is. I am now thinking of adding to the touring experience by installing an audio system (the bike has never had a radio). My brief search through the HD parts & accessories catalog only shows systems for ’06 and later FLHT models. I’m looking for a system that will fit in the radio opening (glove box?) and speaker openings that exist in the fairing. I don’t really need anything over the top. I’m just looking for a solid AM/FM system with ipod/iphone/mp3 capability. Has anyone recently installed a system in an ’05 FLHT? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ...thanks

if you're note wanting to get crazy with amp and all, then I suggest a simple install of the Jensen HD1BT and a good pair of speakers such as Infinity Kappa 62.11 with adapter rings.

Ditto! If you happen to have and extra $160 - 170 laying around the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 is a nice addition to Nutz's suggestion without breaking the bank.

Awesome, will check them out ...thanks guys! Also, I work well around a bike but I’m not a big fan of electrical work and wiring. Do you know if it’s a fairly straight forward install working from scratch (without an existing system to replace)?

Do you know if it's the same harness as the FLHTC/U? Are there existing switches on the grip controls?
