Default Removing the ends on RZ4 and a few other pre purchase ?s

1 Can anyone give a little detail on whatever ya need to remove to make it fit?

2 Are they all now coming with one 40 AMP fuse?

3 What speaker out set up are they coming with now?

Couldn't find anything more current than July on any of this stuff. I know I read lots of the regulars here are using it and wonder if anyone took a pic or two of the removal part? Snowing like a SOB out there and just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I dive in!!!! Looking at Amazon to purchase it. As always thanks a million to all for a GREAT forum!!!

1. Both handles. Take the little screws out and the handles pop right off.
2. Yes they changed the fuses on the PA and the sound stream.
3. Direct connection to the speaker with the newer amps. Older amps had a molex connection.

Very easy to remove the handles. Just remove the screws and tug on the handles a little. They will pop right off.

Thanks a million. Guessing my 7.1s will love it but the RF Power series 6.5's might not, so I am guessing might not be able to send them quite as much power. Guess that's why there are separate gain controls.

EDIT: 70 Watts RMS 140 Watts MAX for the RFs

1. end caps takes 6 (small Phillips) screws each as I can recall... REALLY simple. see picture of parts left off...
2. does it matter? my manual says yes - do not have the fairing open
3. screw terminals out to speakers, either high level (speaker) input or low level input (RCA - use THESE if aftermarket radio

below bracket idea (U shape sheet metal with 4 oversized holes to sandwich between radio and fairing bracket) - posted this before FYI .

The 6.5's should be fine with the PA. It's rated 160 watts @ 4 Ohms but when AAWAV tested it, I think actual power was around 120 watts. In other words we know the amp doesn't produce rated power as advertised. But it's a very powerful little amp and your Rockford speakers and the 7.1's will sound very good with this amp. Keep us posted.

you are looking at "realistically ~80W (CLEAN signal on my o scope!) RMS at 4ohm and ~115-120W at 2 ohm. it is the "same" amp as PN4.520. only few vendors provide the real honest specs and it also depends on the test setup.

ps. Picture of bracket shows SS amp, which I replaced with the RZ4.

I can't remember AAWAV . . . Did you test the soundstream at the same time you tested the PA? And you are saying the results were exactly the same?

Yep.. output more or less the same but as we both agreed to, PA sounds "cleaner" (perhaps due to older model SS and newer PA - screw terms for speakers on the PA).
