Newbie Needs Help
Buying a 2000 FLHT that doesn't have the factory radio. the original owner said all the wiring is there. what all do I need to be able to put a radio and 2 speakers in it? trying to do it on the cheap now just to have some tunes then later ill do a better system after the bank account recovers from paying cash for the bike. Thanks in advance!

If all the wiring is there (you'll have to take the front fairing to check). I would go ahead and add an aftermarket HU. They are cheaper than the stock HU's. See the sticky up top titled ASWC-1...that's the cheapest control module so you can use your handle bar controls. Any decent speakers will work.....you can add an amp later.
What's your budget? Doing it on a tight budget...
Radio - 100.00
Mounting Kit - 25.00
Module - 45.00
Speakers - 50 to 100.
(but you'll really want/need an amp at some point to do it right).

what's your budget realistically. You can work some magic on a budget and still sound better than anything stock.

Honestly only about 2-300 right now. After buying 2 bikes this week I'm drained lol. I know in the long run it will be a waste to go with cheap **** now to just replace later but I would rather do that and have some tunes then ride with nothing. Gives me too much time to think and that gets me in trouble lol

I don't need any fance **** right now. Just good ole am fm with 2 speakers will be just fine for me. I was looking at a hu on Amazon for $30 that would do everything I want it to do and if it lasted 6 months I would be more then happy. I'm good with going cheap on stuff lol. But on the same note I would like to be able to hear it while riding Dow the road
