Default stereo install looks terrible

I installed a Sony aftermarket stereo in my 08 Ultra Classic it is a bike Tronics kit. However the faceplate insets about an inch or so. I'm wondering if there are any kits that have the stereo face flush or even close to the fairing face?

Pictures would be helpful here but I think the set back you are talking about is to facilitate the install of a rain shield.

Yeah - An inch is a bit much. Your Sony should only be recessed about 1/2 inch.

I did remove it. The black plastic plate butts up to the back of the fairing and all the holes line up, it just sits that far back. Are there any mounting kits that move it closer?

+1 The metra sits about 1/2 inch.

I thought you meant it stuck out 1 inch. I find the rescessed area works well for fitting a rain cover over the radio.

Yes Sir! You need that 1/2 inch for exactly that.

That would look better than 1". I'm not using a rain shield just yet, I bought the marine stereo and it is supposed to be a waterproof face.

So your radio sits deeper than this?
