Default Rockford Fosgate PBR 300 Install power & ground hook up

I am installing a RF pbr 300 on my 13 Ultra. I talked to a local audio "expert" who stated it is not necessary to go outside the fairing for power and ground connection. This contradicts the manual which states the main power and ground should go to the battery. Can anyone advise on connecting power and ground to existing wires under the fairing?

I would say always go back to the battery. These can draw a lot of power and you don't want to tax The circuit you tap into.

Please just do it right the first time. Both to battery and a 30 amp fuse in the power wire as close to the battery as you can. Especially with this amp. Many will back me on this one.

As BlackPearl said, do it right and take both back to the battery.

I had my RF installed last week and my "local audio expert" said he wouldn't run ground or power anywhere else but the battery. Have a 30 amp fuse as well.

You should also consider what this Rockford Fosgate advisory recommends.

man, i just had that amp put into my ultra. i dont know where they ran the wires. i just sent my wrench a text. he is very good, i am hoping he did it the right way.....i just had to have the voltage regulator replaced and i hope it wasnt because the amp was hooked up wrong.

Pull the seat and look at the battery terminals. I would think that would answer your question.
