Default What do dealers charge to flash your radio?

So I have a new amp and speakers on the way and a friend of mine said he isnt doing anything until he replaces the Entertainment system on his with a regular radio (we both ride '15 SG's) as he doesnt want to have to pay 100 bucks to the dealer to get it flashed. When he said that number I was taken aback a bit, as I was thinking there is no way they are going to charge that much to spend 5 minutes with the computer hooked up to flash the bike....as if they do, I will probably go high and to the right....

Hence I am asking those that have gotten the flash done when adding an amp...have they been sticking to the age old practice of "HD stands for Hundred Dollars"...or is it actually realistic??? (seriously we should be able to do this ourselves vice being locked into having to deal with the damn dealer....)

It depends on the Dealer, I had mine done with other service and they didn't charge me to flash the head unit....

Exactly....wish they would sell me the interface and let me modify it on my damn own....whoever heard of this kind of crap to make simple radio settings to be proprietary and us have to deal with this....dumbest thing I have ever heard of or seen...(well not really...but close!! LOL) They think its a way to get you to the dealer so they can sell you more ****, but in reality it gets you so pissed off that you buy more stuff online and less from the dealer....DUMB DUMB DUMB

I got two separate quotes this week, my home town dealer, in Goldsboro said 1/2 hour labor, 35.00. My dealer I bought it from quoted 21.50..... May not charge me anything since I have to take it in for the recall on the clutch this weekend anyway.
