Looking for some help...please
So I have been trying to upgrade my stereo on my 2012 SG. I know little about stereos but that has never stopped me before and I am trying desperately to learn. Honestly, the more I read the more confused I get. What I am looking for is some advice on wiring the following components and how I should have my amp set up.
Here is what I have (whether its right or wrong)...
Stock head unit
Kenwood KAC-M3004 mini amp
RMS Power @ 4 ohms 50 watts x 4 channels
RMS Power @ 2 ohms 75 watts x 4 channels
Bridged RMS Power 150 watts x 2 channels
Amplifier Class D
Number of Channels 4
Total Peak Power Output 600 watts
Total RMS Power Output 150 watts
Maximum Input Gauge Size 10 AWG
Minimum Impedance Unbridged 2 ohms
Minimum Impedance Bridged 4 ohms
Speaker Level Inputs Yes
Preamp Outputs No
Built-in Crossover Low-pass (LP)
High-pass (HP)
High-Pass Crossover Frequency 50 - 200 Hz
Low-Pass Crossover Frequency 50 - 200 Hz
J&M ROKKER XX 7.25 Fairing Speaker kit HCRK-7252-RXX
Spec’d at 2 ohms impedance and 217 watts maximum input (156w RMS continuous - 92db sensitivity)
Hogtunes Fairing Mount Tweeter Pod
Power Handling: 50 RMS-100 Peak
Frequency Response: 3k-25K
Sensitivity: 92 db 1watt/1meter
Nominal Impedance: 6 Ohms
Passive Network: 5k-3rd Order Butterworth
Well I tried to provide as much information as I can but as I already mentioned it is still pretty much meaningless to me. I am not sure if what I am asking for is a mircle or common sense, please be kind...LOL
My initial thoughts are since I have the 4 channel amp I would put 2 channels on the rokkers and the other two on the tweeter pod. Not sure if this is feasible either.
Thank you very very much for any help you may provide!
Bryan

there are many many many threads on the forum with the same question.
have you tried searching the forum?
you provided some of the info "we" need to help you, most important one is missing:
your budget...
also if you are willing to potentially lose FM or part of your radio stations.
your 3 suggestions are not what we would recommend here.
a. amp power not enough - by far - to make a huge difference
b. we are not fans of the J&M speakers (the least to say)
c. HT tweeters not needed
some combos, to give you an idea, but if you provide answers on the above 2 Q's, pretty sure several will provide input.
amps to consider:
Cerwin Vega B52
RF PBR300x2 (keeps FM)
SS PN4.1000D / PA RZ4.3000D (same amp; yes 4 channel, but cheap and powerful and you got 2 channels for potentail future use)
BT 2180 (higher end and price + lifetime warranty)
speakers:
American Bass SQ 6.5 (cheap but good) *
Infinity Kappa 62.11i ~110 *
Biketronics 7.1 - believe they got a deal going on now (mention HDforum when calling them) (they come with the speaker rings)
* you need speaker rings: just found them on amazon (cheaper than ebay now and PRIME):
you need power line and some polyfill as well...
powerline mentioned in thread below.
polyfil - W mart ~ 8 bucks or so (you need sheet version :quilt)

Yes Sir! A lot of information was posted on your thread. Are you saying you have no idea what it all means? My friend AAWAV has you on the right track if you are interested in a nice set up. Follow his direction and we will help you from there.

I am sorry for my ignorance and lack of searching skills. My budget is $0 since I spent more than I wanted on the components I currently have. I was hoping for some advice on how to hook up what I currently have to make it work as best as possible. To be completely honest I bought the components I currently have BY SEARCHING THIS FORUM and here I am. You all make it sound so simple..."did even bother searching?". When you search you find contradicting information. One guy says its the best the next guy says its the worst. One guy says it wont work the next one says he has been running it for years. Honestly I am not here to start a bitch session and if it pumps up your ego to make me feel stupid and lazy then so be it. I just was asking for help. I thought I was on the right track and looks like I missed the mark. I had the Rockford Fosgate amp listed above and it didn't even last one summer. I read reviews, threads, specs whatever they led me to believe I was doing the right thing. For now I must use what I have and in the future possibly improve on it.

My suggestion would be to send the Rokkers back and call Biketronics. Order the BT7P1's and let them know your a HDForum member for your discount. If you never plan on having more than 2 speakers go with the Cerwin Vega B52. If you plan to add on later go with the Soundstream pn4.1000. Smiles for miles. Tweeter bar is pretty much useless but since your stuck with it you could wire it direct to the HU.
