Default Question on Install SS PN4.1000D

Trying to make a decision on amp purchase. Was wondering
If it's a must to notch the plastic in order to make the SS PN4.1000D fit securely? This is going in a 08 flhx . Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had the SS 520D in my 07 SG just using a block of 1/2 inch wood and industrial velcro, just had to raise it up a little to clear the fairing brackets. I think it would be the same with the 1000D, not sure though, I'm sure somebody here has done it! This should bump you back up for help! What HU?

The 2 plastic pieces...one on each end of the amp? Just take them off.

I think you are referring to the Power Acoustik RZ4-2000D amp. This would be an easier fit with the ends removed. Same power less money.

RZ4-3000 and the 1000D are the same amp. The RZ4-2000 is the same as the pn4.520.

Oh yes, wrong amp. The 3000 doesn't look like it will fit in the fairing either.

It does.

Both Power Acoustik amps the 2000 and 3000 versions have removable handles. The two Soundstreams are the same amp and have no handles.

For $120 you can buy a Sony DSX 310 HU, huge upgrade over stock.
