Default Amp install help.

OK, first off I'm an idiot when it comes to radios and wires....that being said, I have acquired an amp that had a bunch of wires coming out of it labeled speaker in neg. , speaker out neg., speaker in pos., out pos., and so on.... The battery, ground, and remote, I understand. But for all the speaker wires, do I just cut and splice into each wire from the amp to the harness per wire accordingly?? It seems a lot of guys do the plug and play, unfortunately I'm not. I have the stock head unit, so no rca jacks. And the amp only has the wires hard wired internally. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What's the amp?

Yes, basically you would splice the wires going to your speakers now to the amp.

I would hate to see you do a bunch of splicing and unnecessary work installing an amp that is not going to work well. That is why I ask what amp.

What are you going to run for speakers?

I would not cut the stock harness, Use existing speaker wires to inputs and run new speaker wires from amp to speakers. You may need an input regulating device. wait for the experts

It is an audiobahn A1000 2 channel amp. Can I splice them all in down where it comes out of the head unit, or up where it comes off of the speaker?? Does it matter? Thanks. Oh and I have a set of 6.5 polks

I hate to be the one to do this but somebody has got to do it.......If you put garbage in, you get garbage out, plain and simple. Even on the tightest of budgets there are far better amps to put in your sled.

I just tore into it with the help of a few beers....and I forgot that I didn't know sh*t about this stuff. I already spliced all the negative wires to the speakers, but wanted to make sure I was at least on the right track before I went any further...stupid question, if I cut and splice at the head unit will that tap into the wires coming off the speakers? Obviously splicing into the right color wires
