LOL. No, when the Love Bugs are out you just hide behind the windshield. They make a good paint remover also if left on to long.

I have heard that. Wet towels work well to soften them up. Then a wash. I have never sprayed water on the inner fairing. But now with an aftermarket HU and lowers washing will be a little more challenging. I do like the shower cap idea over the lowers thou.

This has been my debate with adding an aftermarket system to the bike. We've been caught in some wicked rain over the years, and covering the bike hasn't always been an option. Would the worries be less with marine grade equipment?

That is one reason that I went with BT speakers, on Hybrid Audio Technology's website, under the Image speaker line they have their speakers in a aquarium and there running water on them! Bill at BT said he ran a garden hose on the lid 6x9's to check out the waterproofing, plus lifetime warranty, their speakers will stand up to the elements! They also include a piece of plastic sheeting in their HU install kit that you put over an aftermarket HU to prevent water from dripping down on the HU from the fairing! Check out the BT website or give them a call, you won't be sorry!

^^^ What Mike said.

On thing to add. Check and make sure the seal between the windshield and the outer fairing is intact. The thin rubber gasket HD puts in there does not last and can could leak water.

Not to be a smart a$$ but what do you guys do when it rains? Seems to me if you are worried about washing it, getting rained on you would suffer the same consequence, no?

Most of the suggested precautions will apply to rain also.
