Default huge thanks to EVERYONE HERE

just finished upgrade on girlfriends streetglide. we are not audiophiles or trailer queens or parking lot stereos. we wanted crisp clear vocals and instrument at 80mph at a good price. i took into concideration every suggestion you guys offerred. and here is a list and price (from memory) of what we did. im sure hu upgrade is in her future and lower speaker upgrade too. again, first timers on a budget

stock hu
ss pn41000d. $130
1 pair kappas in fairing. $125
metra adapters. $12?
1 pair alpines in lowers. $90 ( had to do
some business with local storefront too who has given me lotsa info)
vivid black lower pods. $130
wiring?? $25
girlfriends smile....priceless

thanks again. my bike is next

Good stuff man! Congrats! One more suggestion for your bike. Run the infinity's in both holes up front with the 1000D.

Any reason why you chose 2 different brands of speakers for the front sound stage ?

purchased alpines from local dealer. fit the budget temporarily. kappas will replace them soon and alpines going in stepson chrysler 300m

im waitin to see how my homade rear pods sound with a cv b54 behind them cant have her bike sounding better than mine

Yep, got to keep both bikes happy!!!

You may want to try a little polyfill or batten in with the speakers.

yup. currently have hogtunes in there. lined with dynamat and a bit of polyfil. no amp yet. just aquatic hu. sound ok. but nothin like the kappas up front. just had sinus surgery thur. she said i could work on one bike then rest for a day or two. im still up in the air between the kappas or hertz. hertz is definately at the top of my budget for speakers.

pros? cons? help?
