Default 2017 Road Glide Arc Moto 602 fitment

I need some advice, I'm running into an issue mounting my Arc Moto 602 speakers in my speaker enclosures. I first tried and had to remove the rubber bumpers from the magnets, still hits the enclosure. Tried filing away some (all) if the plastic where it rubs, still hits.

Am I supposed to use the plastic mounting ring that came with the speakers (leaving the grill off)?

I suppose I could make some type of ring to lift the speaker out about an 1/8th of an inch.

Any expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Google 6.5 speaker spacers. There are several folks that make them. Biketronics has then as well as BadAzzBikes and they are both forum sponsors.
The will go between the pod and speaker then install speaker as supplied form manufacturer. Easy stuff.

I prefer the Biketronics spacers because they angle the speakers towards the rider and they are made out of aluminum.

You don't have to use any spacers though if your wiling to do a little modding.

You can heat up the pod with a heat gun and mold the speaker in place. Make sure the tabs on the speakers are at the 12-3 o'clock position (where there is the most room).

I've actually cut my pods and covered the holes with sound deadener but only because I'm running the DD VO's. I also use the Biketronics aluminum spacers.

Just my memory of my fitment but, I don't remember my 602's "not" fitting flush... I removed the rubber magnet ring, and am pretty sure they fit flush, no spacer was needed. I can't tell you that the rear of the speakers don't bottom out on the pod. If that happened, couldn't you hear a vibration from the speakers ???

I received the 1/2" spacers, haven't tried to see if they fit with the stock grills yet.

Should I seal between the spacers and the pods? How about between the speakers and the spacers? If so, will just a think piece of foam work?

Can anyone tell me if they were able to mount these speakers without spacers?

If I use 1/2 spacers does anyone know if the grills still fit?

If in do use the spacers, do I need to seal between them and the pods? How about between the speakers and pods or spacers?

Please let me know.

Reviving this thread. I too will be installing 602s in my '15 Road Glide Special soon and was wondering if I need to get different grills or if the stock ones will work. I am going to try to fit them in the pods without an adapter and if that doesn't work I can get the spacers.

With spacers installed, is there enough room for the stock grills though?

Mine fit with no mods, but I'm pretty sure my magnets are up against the pods... Sound fine to me.

If you are talking about the stock fairing speaker location, the ARC Moto 602's will drop right in. Stock grilles fit just fine. You WILL need to remove the rubber magnet covers off the back of the speakers - but they're just for decoration anyway.
