My HK radio on my new ultra just cuts in and out constantly. Almost like riding in and out of strong signal. It does this with a CD as well, so I know it isn't a radio reception problem. Anyone have issues with their Harmon Kardon similar

Bringing the bike home when new, had to pass through toon town. While revved up at stop lights the HK would Blurb loudly. Emailed dealer, said to adjust auto sound level. I didn't bother, no more problems. Rode to town yesterday and loud static came cutting in Am FM and CD. Noticed it would get worse when power lines were close. Funny rode same road back and no problems. I thought it just maybe electrical interference. These 2 are the only issues I have had with the HK.

 

Does it do this in the helmet headphones or the 4 speakers?

turn the INTERCOM portion of the system OFF and see if the radio still cuts in and out over the external speakers ,,,,

 

That is a great idea. The intercom coming on/off will play havoc with the radio for sure.

 

CB can cause audio problems as well if your in an area with weak CB traffic on your channel. The radio cuts FM sound when it detects a keyed mike on the channel or the intercom sound. Usually keep my CB off unless group ride is using a channel for group communication.
