Exclamation Where do I mount cross-overs in batwing?

I know there are pictures on here somewhere, but I haven't been able to find them.

Where is the best place to mount the cross-overs for the Polk MM651s in the batwing fairing?

If there are at least two possible locations on each side, I may install the cross-overs for my rear speakers in the fairing as well.

Thanks!

WTR

You know what might really be nice: How about a "Sticky" with installation pictures of various systems?

Instead of having to weed & search through dozens of Threads & Post, they could all be grouped together.

I have Hawg Wired crossovers and I used velcro and mounted just under my 6.5 inch speakers. I'll post a picture later today.

I mounted them to the side of the head unit by wrapping cable ties all the way around them after I attached them with 2 sided tape.

Thanks for the picture booch but I'm mounting my equipment in the factory Batwing Fairing, so I don't have as much room as you do.

I'm probably going to attach the cross-overs to the horizontal metal braces that attach to the bottom mounting screw of each speaker (if there is enough room to reinstall the fairing). These are "angle" brackets, so I'll use 3M body side molding tape to adhere them to both the vertical & horizontal surfaces of the bracket, then add the extra security of some zip-ties. This tape is amazing, in that it will not come loose, unless you pry it loose.

I've abandon the idea of mounting the cross-overs for the rear speakers in the fairing (I'd have to run additional wiring) or putting them inside the factory rear speaker pods (they interfere with speaker installation). I plan to mount them inside the TourPak.

I zip tied mine to the speaker braces.

Thanks guys! I mounted them to the braces with body side molding tape and zip ties. The body side molding tape wasn't necessary but it should create a little bit of a "cushion" so that nothing rattles.

Hawg-Wired sells a nice mounting bracket that attaches to the horizontal fairing brackets.

They are listed in HW's accessories portion of their website. Makes wiring the crossovers very easy. Very moderately priced.
