Default XM and NAV and Connector 6A and 6B

So I will be installing the XM Module and Navigation Interface Module this weekend. Going through the instructions I noticed they both involve plugging into connector 6B and 6A. Will be installed in a 2010 EG Ultra Limited.

I have the XM Module kit, Ultra Overlay Cable and Navigation Interface Module.

From the XM Module instructions:

Locate the interconnect harness audio connector [6B]
near the back of the radio. Plug 6-way pin housing
[6A] (3) on the overlay harness into socket housing
[6B].

From the NIM instructions:

Locate the interconnect harness audio connector [6B]
near the back of the radio. Plug 6-way pin housing
[6A] (3) on the overlay harness into socket housing
[6B].

How can I use the same connector and socket for two different items or am I missing something? The other question I have that is confusing me is...Do I need the non-ultra overlay harness? I don't think I do as the cable is labeled non-ultra, I have an ultra.

Thanks,

Robert

Default

You just wire the two in series. You don't need the nuoh.

If you were Installing just one module, the harness would have an unused 6B connector. Use it for the second module. Your install is covered in the instructions for both modules.
