speaker ohms

you can use anything higher than 2 ohms with your stock head unit. The issue comes in with the fact that the higher you go with impedance/ohms on your stock head unit that is designed for 2 ohms, you'll lose volume. In effect if you put a 4 ohm speaker on your head unit, you'll have to turn the volume up almost twice as loud to achieve the same results as you would from a 2 ohm speaker.
Infinity as GP pointed out above and also Polk MM651 are good choices.

So in a pinch if you were doing stages of upgrades, running even 4ohm speakers for a while on the stock HU wouldn't hurt, but you lose loudness at a given volume?
Kinda moot for me as i just started installing on my bike and it's torn apart for paint... So no riding it even if partially installed!

yes sir that is correct. You can always go higher with impedance than what the device (amp or head unit) is rated at but you never want to go lower.
