HD boom audio rythmic pop pop pop sound after install
I just installed the HD boom audio windshield mounted speakers and when I power the unit on all I hear is pop, pop, pop. Its completely rhythmic and there is a pop every second.
Any ideas what might be causing this? There are only 3 wires and they are all connected securely. I figure the rhythmic nature of the popping might mean something to someone.
btw, nothing is plugged into to the audio in. When I do, nothing plays anyway.

It makes the popping sound when its off. The ignition is only turned on.
Starting it seems like a bad idea.
The ground and the positive connection are good. I tested with a meter. Why the hell would the handlebar power button light up only when the positive cable in unplugged? Why would plugging in the positive cable turn off the light?
Mind blown.

Problem solved.
The original owner had cut the control and audio wires instead of removing the nacelle. Because of this, the shielding on the tiny audio cables (which I assume is used for a ground) was not properly connected.
I wish I noticed that the line had been cut before I installed it... I would have returned it.
