I'm considering installation of the Ultra CB radio on my 2012 FLTRX. Starting with:

FPA-HCCB J&M FLEXPOWER™ CB Antenna 06-13

Am I missing anything or has anyone else attempted something similar or have any recommendations?

Looks like you got it... Is that flex power antenna a hidden one? Depending where you ride you might change that after a while but should do good on flats... I installed all of this on my FLHTC 2 years ago and works great...If you get a CB unit on Ebay make sure it's a "C" version..the "A" & "B" is the ones used on older bikes...I bought the unit and the wiring harness on Ebay and the switch unit new from Surdyke at the time i think....

 

Yes, it is the hidden version. I'm the tailgunner sometimes, so I'm never more than a mile away from the group.

 

A mile is pushing it... you will have to squelch down ... I have the long stock whips and a mile is iffy....
