I have a 2014 Streetglide special with the 6.5" Boom Box system. I plan on sticking with just 2 fairing speakers and adding an amp. I don't need the absolute best system out there and prefer a "plug and play" solution. I tried the Boom 6.5" speakers alone without an amp and they were a big disappointment - I think they definitely needed an amp to drive them. I've read all the threads here so I know the Harley Boom stuff is not believed to be number one on the list nor is J&M - BUT is either a decent improvement? What about mixing the J&M amp with the Boom speakers? What about Biketronics?

grab a Rockford fosgate PBR300x2 and a pair of Titan II 6.5" from Biketronics and you'll be VERY pleased. Very easy to install this setup.

If you want plug and play, you can throw quality and price out the window.

 

Did you have to go to the dealer and have your radio re flashed??
