Default Hogtunes Lids Painting Question

I'm purchasing a set of the HT lids and will have the EBAY vendor ship them directly to my painter.

So I won't get a chance to check them out. My question for those who have them is do the grills require painting? If I decided to leave them black is the finish ok? Or will the painter need to paint them black.

They would be just fine as is but I had my buddy hit them with gloss black as opposed to leaving them flat black. If you leave them as is now you could always hit them with some gloss down the road if you wanted to.

Yes, I'm going to paint them since they will be at the painter. Decided to go gloss black. Thanks Vance for taking the extra time to send me those pictures.

I left mine unpainted, as I think they look better on my White Hot Denim bike with all the black from the Tour Pak backrest and speaker pods:

I like the look...at least for now!

I like the look too, Mike....but I think if everything under the grill was painted black, it would look even more badazz !

I'm actually considering trying some of the hydrophobic cloth for under the grilles since I'm running the Pioneer TS-D6902s in the lids. I would think that might help waterproof these speakers a bit better than merely hoping things work out if i get caught in the rain. And with that cloth under the grille, you wouldn't really notice the white!
