Default Deutsch crimping tool

Going to be doing some wiring and bought some Deutsch connectors and pins. Was wondering if anyone has tried one of these tools. Or if there is something else out there that works but does not break the bank just for a few jobs.

thanks
Bruce

As an option: Would it be possible to solder wire to pin and then place in connector?

Ok thanks guys. I will just use my regular crimper and solder it as well. I have no problem with that.

I cut and spliced in wires. I kept about 2-3 inches of the original wire at the connectors. This way I still had the color codes and did not have to crimp new connectors. Soldered and heat shrinked.

Yes that is what I did when I changed out my bars. I also staggered all my cuts so they would not be bunched up. But now I am adding a Tour Pak with speaker pods and also an aftermarket Fairing which will all be quick release. So I am going to have to start from scratch and make up all my own wiring harnesses.

Next winter project will be adding Handle bar controls so again making up a wiring harness. I do prefer soldering over crimping that’s forsure.

I think this is the best course of action. FYI the crimper you have there is for the solid connectors the Harley connectors are not those type. they are machine stamped.

Good luck.
