Are my 7.1s wanting more power?

Pioneers set up is the proof in the pudding. . .I run two 520.D's presently, But they are with the Infinity 62.11i's which are 2 ohm speakers and it sounds INSANE! But when I had 4 titan2's hooked up to the soundstream the speakers were looking for more power! Just as Ridedaddy stated.

So you chose to replace the speakers rather than send them more power? If you don't mind me asking what was your thought behind that? One thing I have noticed is biketronics has recently up the wattage on the 7.1s they used to say 100 w rms now there website says 120w rms. my 7.1s sound slightly better than the polks I was running but I have a feeling they are wanting more than the 100w I'm sending them. Time will tell.

I'm running the 62.11i in my fairing powered by the PPI version of the 520 amp. It is crazy loud, much more so than when I ran the Polk MM651 and the RF 300x2. I can't wait to mount my Infinity components in my lower fairings, it should be killer. The combo of 2 ohm, high efficiency speakers and 130 watts per channel work very well. If you double the wattage you will only gain 3db more volume, so you might want to re-evaluate spending a lot of money for an amp that may not do what you want.

I can't argue with that..... It may be the HK head unit that is throwing me off. It's not like the volume lvl is the issue its just that distortion sets in alittle to soon. It's almost like there is alittle mid bass distortion even though the bass thumps are still clean at higher volumes? I'm not going to make any drastic moves, I'm going to finish my rear speaker lid upgrade and install the bt retro radio kit with a kenwood excelon head unit before even thinking of a new amp. Hell who knows maybe the lid upgrade will make a big difference.
