Default Ordered the pbr300x2

Just pulled the trigger on the RF pbr300x2. It will arrive on Friday, just in time for a weekend install. I've been listening to my new HU and BT7P1's without an amp. Time to hear what these speakers are all about.

Question for you guys with the 4180's. How do you set your gain? It appears there is no manual adjustment on the unit?

NO gain control on the 4180. Bill at BT told me that since most people can't properly set there gains or do it wrong they set the gains as follows... HU are 2 to 4v output they set the gain for an average of 3v output, and since it has plenty of power works pretty good. I know it works great for me!!

HELL YEAH!! Just replaced my SS 4 520 with a BT 4180 and after living with it for a few long rides (6-8 hr.) I LUV IT...LOUD AND CLEAN!!! I can finally hear the musical details on the way home, where with the previous set ups it was hard to hear the detail of the music. My SO (OL) was impressed also, said she could actually hear the music instead of just noise! You will luv it! (especially for $499)

How well does that setting work with the stock HU? I thought it was something around 2v?

The 4180 works well with the stock HU, but you soon realize that just maybe, an aftermarket HU will be just that much better. Guess it's part of the audio sickness. I'm gonna work on more speakers for now, but over winter will likely be looking at replacing HU with a Sony or Kenwood, mostly for USB connection maybe Bluetooth even tho at this time I don't have or want a smart phone.
