RF pbr300x2 settings?

Kind of a trick question, each systems amp and speaker combo should be set by the operator or tuning by ear as its referred too. Just as a reference; I done an install with the same amp and speakers you mention and I set amp on AP (all pass) 80hz for freq. and about 5 on gain should put you pretty close.
On your head unit, set your bass and treble to middle position and AVC to 1 bar. Setting the gain is where you can do the most damage so be conservative. Start by having it all the way down and turn up the radio until speakers start to distort, then back off a couple bars. Next slowly increase the gain until you begin to hear distortion again then back off a bit. Play several kinds of music due to recording levels being different on all music to ensure that a hard rocker dont push you over the limit and damage speakers. I like to set up to Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Van Halen.

The frequency setting determines what frequencies go through to your speakers. If you set it in AP (All-Pass) it will let all frequencies through. HP=High-Pass and lets all frequencies above your setting through. LP=Low-Pass and lets frequencies below the setting through. Follow the procedure in the sticky's above (the above post is pretty close). For reference purposes - I have my gain set to 5.5 and frequency set to AP powering a pair of Infinity Kappa 62.11i speakers from the stock HK head unit. I found that when adjusting the gain you want to make sure you have some margin until distortion kicks in as you will be playing a variety of music from different sources. I made sure the BRT light on the PBR300x2 would only occasionally flicker at my desired volume. The Kappa's are 2 ohm speakers and are very efficient (94 db); so your gain adjustment will be different from mine for your J&M's. I had to play around with mine until I got the gain set the way I wanted. An alternative, is to set your crossover to HP and the frequency to approx. 80 hz. That way you control the lower cut-off frequency going to your speakers. That setting was recommended by RF when I went through on-line help. IMO you might lose a little bass (probably wouldn't be able to hear anyway), but you won't get any unwanted ultra-low frequencies that could cause problems to your speakers. Good luck and let us know how it sounds!
