Ok, so this is what I learned... You want the 8 speaker 2 amp flash. They then need to go in to a second menu on their laptop where the select AUDIO. They then go in to the amplifier section and check no next to to both Amp 1 and Amp 2. This should help prevent throwing codes. Mine still throws the "radio cannot communicate with amp" fault. The only place you can see this fault is on their laptop.

I didn't get the I connector with my kit. Is there a way to hook up the amp without that? I tried and the gain controller started overheating.

Here's Bill from Biketronics reply in another thread concerning polyfill copy/pasted.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/attac...rade-image.jpg
I don't mind if someone uses polyfill as long as they don't have it packed so tight or tied to the speakers in a way that effects the airflow needed to keep them cool. I worry when I see pictures of polyfill zip tied to speakers or taped around them. And I didn't see a big enough difference with it installed to balance out the worry of a bad installation so we don't usually recommend it. We have seen parts that had been wrapped in polyfill that had gotten wet a couple of times, not good.

The stock head unit does put out a ton of distortion, that might be some of the vibration in your fairing.

Bill

And a photo of my install, Sony MEX-GS810BH, 2180 amp, 7.1's, Retro kit 1005. I have since removed the HD hidden in fairing antenna for a rear rubber stubby, Much better reception.
