Default Installed a Kenwood this evening

Installed a kenwood 598, decided I didn't need the 798 and it's rear USB so saved the $50 and did the 598. Really drives the bt 7.1 and bt 2180 a lot louder and cleaner, but man is the eq going to take sometime to get in the sweet spot. Anyone who has a similiar set up and would like to share how they set there eq I would greatly appreciate any guidance you would be willing to share!

My 955HD has a "powerful" eq setting. I use that one and adjust two right hashes to get the highs the way I like it. Don't know if yours is the same but mine sounds great with those settings.

Glad you pulled the trigger on a Kenwood they are a good HU. The eq has alot of settings. But when you hit that sweet spot you will know trust me. I have the loud setting on but not sure if it's the same as sony. I dont know if your hu has the setting for each source that controls the volume but when I got mine they had it set all the way down on all sources. I turned them all up and it made a big difference. I am going to try the powerful eq and see what I think . Kave Dweller I am in the same boat as you. If you find that sweet spot please share it with me I think I got mine but yours could be even sweeter.

Once you select "powerful", you can change what you want individually.

Once you adjust it, it's not considered a pre programed eq setting anymore. It's a "user" eq setting, and not labeled "powerful" in your scrolling menu anymore, IIRC.

Ended up with about 175 miles today, just using the user defined eq, got it sounding really good, highs are perfect, playing the fine line with adding lows without distortion at 25-26 on the volume is the sweet spot I have quite nailed down yet but for sure closer, thanks for the input, I really love this system!
