1990 Softail Custom/1990 Fxstc Softail with Shovelhead Engine Questions
So my father passed away recently and in his possession he had a 1990 Softail Custom and 1990 Custom FXSTC with a Shovelhead Engine. Looking to sell these now but have some questions.
1990 Custom Softail: 16175 km, No rust or damage, has not run in ~10 years and sat in a dry shop, gas was left in it for this period.
1990 Custom FXSTC Softail: 24212 km, Shovelhead engine, dented gas tank on the right side and ripped up footrest on the right side, custom eagle paint job, has sat in a dry shop for ~9 years with gas in it.
To the best of my knowledge nothing mechanically was wrong with these bikes when they were parked. What mechanical work would be required to get these back up and running? On average how much labor/cost would this require?
If sold as is what is a reasonable price for these two bikes given their condition?

At the minimum, you will need to drain the fuel and replace the batteries to start them, they will need a lot more time and money(tires, complete fluids flush, etc) to be roadworthy. You will fetch a better price if they run,but if you are uncomfortable with working on them, selling them as is together for one price($10K ?) may be your best and quickest bet.Too bad you weren't closer...
