I'm having some trouble starting my bike after I turn off when it's already warm. It cranks and cranks.. I usually have to give it some gas for it to start. Any tips? This is my first carb'd bike
Try using a little choke. A cold engine will often need choke, if the carb is set up correctly, a hot engine should start without the choke, somewhere in between will need a little. Don't pull the choke right out, just part way. If your bike has been modified in any way and not adjusted to compensate, that may add to the difficulty of starting it.
When it's hot, do you really think you are giving it gas or are you opening the throttle plate and giving it air? Usually a carb bike just turned off may need air (for more airflow rather than a shot of gas from the accelerator pump) depending on how long it has set.
