Default EZ Just Idle mixture screw

I just installed the CV Performance EZ Just Idle mixture screw in my 2001 883 with stock pipes, the question I have is how do you get to the bloody thing with the air cleaner and pipes in place? The stock pipes on the 2001 883 has a cross connect pipe between the front and rear pipes that runs just beneath the air cleaner assembly. Any suggestions?

you reach over the cross over pipe.
hint: wear gloves..

the 'easy adjust " sticks out farther than stock and is knurled.
can adjust with fingers..

OR you can slip a rubber hose on it(tight), then adjust by turning hose.
Hope this helps.

So far so good, I put my Arlen Ness Derby Sucker air cleaner on and have been riding for 300+ KM with no signs of loosening of the screw. The stock cleaner was just way too cumbersome to try to get my hands around with the stock cross connect pipe in the way. But I was able to adjust it pretty easily with the new air cleaner in place.

It happened to me as well. I ended up going back to the stock screw after that.

Replace with an S&S E carb and you won't have that problem and you'll also be increasing your performance......

It would seem that if the idle adjust screw fell out, you might have had it adjusted out so far that the spring tension could not hold it in place....

The CV is an excellent carburetor with a well proved design. While an expensive aftermarket Mikuni or S&S carb may give you marginally better performance in parts of the curve, the overall return on investment is not all that impressive over a well tuned CV, especially considering the change-over costs involved.

I found that on my current CV the ez screw threads were a tad looser than I was comfortable with. Sure, the spring should always keep tension but I didn't trust it. I put a little clear fingernail polish on the threads as extra insurance. Holds threads like this just fine...
