Default Bent CVP EZ-Just screw needle

Hi everyone, what do you think of my bent CVP EZ-Just screw needle?

I rebuilt my carb yesterday and went for a spin to warm it up before setting my idle and mixture screws. As I pulled back into the garage it won't idle.

A moment later I see the EZ-Just screw laying on the floor and found the spring, washer, and o-ring sitting on the engine case. I'm lucky to not have lost it. Next time I'll use thread tape to stiffen it up and maybe a gob of silicon to act as a lock on the outside.

Anyhow, now the needle is bent, either from seating it, it falling, or perhaps me stepping on it.

Do you think it'll be ok if I can straighten it without damaging? Other thoughts?

Thanks.

You will run the risk of damaging the carb where that tapered tip fits into. It would be very hard to get that thing perfectly aligned and correct.

If it were me, I would get another. Don't risk messing up the carb. You can always use the stock needle till the new one shows up. YD

I talked to CVP, guy suggested I try to roll it straight on something. I used a piece of flat stock and it seemed to work ok. I put it back in with some thread tape and it seems ok although I'm still tuning it so you never know.
