Default Need vacuum slide for CV44 Carb

I have a Keihin 44mm carb (Part # 27932-99). My vacuum slide diaphragm is distended due to carburetor cleaner contacting it. Does anyone have a recommendation on where I can purchase a new vacuum slide? A search of the internet did not yield any results.

CV Performance says the vacuum slide from a CV40 Carb will not work.

Please email cjwicker@live.com if you have any leads. Thank you.

Apparently the cv 40 and cv 44 slide are the same.

Thank you lt1-xjs! That tech talk link was very valuable. It makes me wonder what the difference in spring rate is.

Thank you also to Scott at Hillsdale cycle who took time on the telephone to inform me that the vacuum diaphragm of the CV40 and CV44 are identical, and that I do not need to buy the whole slide just to swap the diaphragm.

I realize this is an older thread but wanted to say that there is zero difference between a CV40 diaphragm slide assembly and a CV44 one.
I just replace my CV44 one with that of a CV40 one and it worked perfectly fine.

The diaphragm may be the same but the piston is not. Needles are different length also.

I'm guessing the diaphragm may be the same since the cap is the same. You can buy them aftermarket ebay and maybe else where. Worth a try.

The piston is identical also, there is absolutely zero difference.

Again, i just swapped out a CV44 piston and diaphragm assembly with a CV40 one.

Being curious i placed that exact same CV44 piston diaphragm assembly in a CV40 carburetor and it was a form, fit, function direct drop in replacement.

I don't mean to start an argument or disagree with you on this but you are incorrect.

Oh, not at all. I was going only by part numbers and factory sheets I read years ago. Clearly my memory was mistaken.

So thank you for the hands on, experienced knowledge. Much appreciated. 👍

No problem, i did this not only for myself but for anyone else who might have read somewhere that they're "different" and/or "not compatible".

Lots of fake news out there and people like myself are the ones doing the actual work.

In doing so maybe others will be able to see this which and help them out with locating a CV44 diaphragm.

I totally understand they have different part number etc but they are absolutely 100% identical and I have proven it.

May this be etched in stone and live forevermore to the rest of the CV44 community.
