If you want to see if it's running lean or rich you can hook up a Propane bottle to a vacuum port on the intake and slowly crack the valve at idle, If the idle goes up then it's running lean. If the idle goes down, it's running rich...

When the idle circuit is adjusted properly it should increase 50 rpm with a slight amount of propane..
interesting...do you think this would work if the propane is hooked up to the carb where the petcock vacuum line connects?

As long as you have another way to put vacuum to your petcock. I guess you could T it in and not loose vacuum to the petcock.

This is how we did it when I was a Chrysler Mech....

Your factory needle is not adjustable so that needle is not stock. Could be an issue. If it is the dynojet needle and emulsion tube then good luck tuning that junk. Not saying it is, but heads up, their jets don't match Harleys and the threads are different.

You plugs look sooty (black fluff on the plug base). It is clean where the spark occurs, but that base circle is sooty and to me that says rich.

Take a look at the stickeys for plug reading. I like this diagram:

This is a good read also:

You know it's funny how most don't know how to read a plug with today's fuels. They don't leave deposits like the older fuels did.

Good find YD....
